iStain SB® is solvent soluble metal complex dyes with excellent solubilities in polar organic solvents (alcohol, ketones and glycol ether), as well as good resistance to over-lacquering and light fastness.

Main Application

iStain SB® is suitable for coloration of wood stain, leather finish, writing inks, stamping foil, flexographic and gravure inks and all paints based on polar solvents.

We always recommend that the dye solutions be filtered at the time of production or before use.

All the dyes have no excellent light fastness and weather fastness; we only recommend the dye for indoor coloration (flooring, toys and interior furniture).

Weather and light fastness properties depend on:

  • Film thickness, more thick has better properties
  • Concentration of colorant, less dosage will has more poor properties
  • Type of Binder, use exterior grade of binder will has better properties

Note:

  1. The solubility figures represent the maximum amount of dry dye powder in grams which dissolves at room temperature in one litre solvent without any significant residue.
  2. Light Fastness: in accordance with DIN 16525. Test method of light fastness, notating grade 1-8, and grade 8 is the best.
