iCare WA® whitening/bluing agent for detergent

iCare WA®  are unique bluish violet shades, specially developed for laundry products detergents due to low risk of fabric staining.  iCare WA® give clean and whitening effect for fabric. It is designed for easy handling and dosing and enhance production hygiene and feature stringent microbiological specifications.


Principles of Whiteness Improvement

Materials that evenly reflect most of the light at all wave- lengths striking their surface appear white to the human eye. Natural and synthetic fibers generally absorb more light in the blue region of the visible spectrum (‘blue defect’) than in others because of impurities (natural pigments) they contain. As a result, natural and synthetic fibers take on an unwanted, yellowish cast.

Whiteness in substrates can be improved by

(1) compensating the blue defect by Whitening Agent and

(2) increasing blue reflection (reflectance) by Optical Brightener Agent 

iCare WA® as whitening agent to compensate the blue defect.

Apply small amounts of iCare WA® to boost the visual impression of whiteness. iCare WA® will absorb light in the green-yellow region of the spectrum, thereby reducing lightness. But, since at the same time they shift the shade of the yellowish material towards blue, the human eye perceives an increase of whiteness.

Dosage Application

Powder Detergents: 40 ppm

Liquid Detergents and other liquid products: 30 - 40 ppm
